The project

Cthulhu: The cosmic abyss is a modern system focused investigation game. You play an augmented agent exploring the dark world of dangerous cultists and unspeakable entities.

INVESTIGATION

Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is a complex and demanding game. Investigations require you to thoroughly search for clues, read them and make accurate deductions about what happened.

Each investigation will ask of you to use your augmented tools:

  • The Vault: an interface that gathers clues for you to connect and sort them.
  • Analysis: Your AI's secret touch to understand hidden properties of the objects you find.
  • The Sonar: a powerfull reasearch tool that highlights the objects responding to the frequencies you selected.
  • Evolutions: mysterious ancient knowledge that enhance your AI abilities throughout the game.

CONSEQUENCES

The game is structured in open levels. Each level is centered around a main obstacle which you need to understand to be able to overcome. However, the solution you might be working on isn't always the safest.

Between cultists and ancient entities, you may have trouble finding out what's best for you or the future. Indeed, deep inside your character's brain, Corruption is spreading as you go deeper in occult territory without disrupting their plans...

TRUST PLAYERS

We tried to create an engaging experience where players are responsible of their progression. We designed tools that require intentionality: you need to know what you're looking for in order to find it.
